Wayne John Procop was born and raised in Chicago Illinois. At the age of 17 Wayne opened, owned, and operated his own Mobile gas station in Skokie, IL. He was a hardworking and innovative man with many loves and interest. He started his family in the sixties and to support his family went to work for the Volvo Corporation and enjoyed a prosperous career. Over his lifetime Wayne loved the outdoors and the sport of hunting and fishing. He was an avid boater and spent many summers on the lake enjoying water sports. As a mechanic by trade, he loved working with his hands, gardening and gourmet cooking and had a love for the workings and mechanical aspects of firearms and reloading ammunition as he started collecting firearms at the age of seventeen. Wayne certainly had an adventurous side and traveled to Africa on several Safari’s in the 70’s where the animals that were harvested feed many local tribes that were in need of food. Wayne was proud of his trophies and contributions to the locals on his trips. Wayne loved his country, God and family. He loved spending time and having fun with his friends and family. Wayne loved animals as well and had an African Grey parrot named Harley & a standard Pomeranian named Boo Bear. Wayne moved to California in 1984 and then to Tennessee about eight years ago to retire 5 years before his sudden passing. Wayne was a very hard worker, kind & generous and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved his daughters, grandchildren and had an amazing sense of humor! Those that knew him will tell you, “He was the most honest an honorable man you could ever know.”
